5 Ways to Put Yourself First… Mom’s Selfcare!!!!

Mamas!!!!! It is very easy to get lost in the shuffle of day-to-day life. You have kids, significant others, work, doctor's appointments, school projects, soccer, business meetings, laundry, and cooking dinner; there seems like there isn't enough time in the day. It is exhausting and it is so easy to forget that moms need care too. Selfcare is vital in making sure that you as a mom can check in with your mental health. There are a couple of ways to help squeeze in the time for yourself to make your self-care meaningful.

#1: Get off the Emotional Roller-coaster!!!

  • You are Enough!!!! You are a Good Mom!!! There is No Perfect Way to Do Anything!!! As moms, we put so much pressure on ourselves not only to be perfect but to sometimes just make it through the day. It seems like so much is riding on your shoulders that if we drop just one thing; everything will disintegrate into a big ball of fire. Take a deep breath and slow down!!! It is so important that you have a real conversation with yourself and check in emotionally. It is ok to say No… even to your own kids and significant other. It is ok to say, I can do that tomorrow and watch that movie, read that chapter, go out to dinner, or pick that hobby. Take the time out to Check-in with that woman you were before you became a mom and reconnect with her. Love on her and give her the attention she needs to live again.

#2: Create a Coping Mechanism!!!!

  • What keeps you Grounded and Balanced? What makes you happy? Outside of children, What do you like to do? It can be as simple as spending time by yourself and taking a walk through your neighborhood. If you cannot answer any of these questions… It is time to Start Now!!!! 

#3: Take Five in the A.M.!!!! 

  • Being the first one to wake up in the morning before everyone else can be a total game-changer. Now, this might take some adjustments to your schedule, but isn't it worth it to just try? How good would it feel to have time for uninterrupted meditation, a small workout, or yoga? Anything that properly equips you to have the motivation to get your day started and on the right foot. 

#4: Look The Part!!!

  • When I Look Good, I Feel Good!!!! Isn't just a Mantra, it is a way of life!!! Sometimes as moms it is a struggle to find the time to wash our hair, let alone put on makeup. Make the Time!!! Do It!!! Go Get the Massage!!! Go Get your Nails Done!!! Put those Lashes On!!! Because you are Worth It!!!

#5: Out Source When You Can!!!

  • It takes a village!!! You are not a martyr. Do Not Fall on the Sword and take this tremendous responsibility all on yourself. You do not have to cook Every night!!! It is ok to ask for help and let the kids stay with Auntie and Uncle for the weekend. If you do not have a village… Build One!!! There are people out there who love you and your kids and want to see you win. They will help you!!!
